Today’s Temptations (Group Activity) Your textbook states that the temptation story, in addition to relaying information about Jesus’ ministry, warns Christians to resist the temptation to find their own meaning and purpose to life through economic security or through personal or political power over others. We are going to look at ways that people today are faced with this type of temptation. Each Group will be assigned one discussion question! 1. What are three ways that people today give in to the temptation to find meaning in economic security? 2. What are three ways that people today give in to the temptation to control other people’s emotions or thoughts for their own benefit? 3. What are three ways that people today give in to the temptation to exert political power over other people? After 10 minutes of discussion, your group will report your responses on the chalkboard and present them to the class. |
