  10. Rattles, Drums, Whistles, and Herbs all play important roles in Native Spirituality. Make a diagram/sketch with instructions that could be used to teach someone about these items.
  11. List the ceremonial rituals that are outlined in the guide with a description not longer than 5 words for each ritual.

Step 3: Read Woodland Art Assignment, find an example of Woodland art that you like and write about it using the thought provoking questions found in the assignment.

Woodland Art Assignment

Examine the piece of art you have selected either from an independent internet search or from the samples on the Woodland Art tab on this page. Look for the elements as listed on the tabbed page and write an interpretation in 350 - 700 words of the spiritual elements it contains. Be sure to add the image or a .url of the art you chose to your explanation. Note any elements that reflect an interconnected relationship—humans to nature, animals to fish, God/the Creator to humans, etc.  Use the following reflection questions to help with your explanations:

bulletWhat helped you move past your first attempt and to find more symbols?
bulletWere you able to understand what the artist was expressing about the Aboriginal way of life?
