Who was John the Baptist?
A wandering prophet during the time of Jesus
John’s task was to prepare the Jews for Christ by
having them change their ways and repent.
This was done through a ritual bathing called baptism.
Ritual bathing was common in many religions, including Judaism and was a sign of spiritual purity.
