In this lab assignment, you will be exploring a number of the ways Canada is involved on the global stage trying to make the world a better place in terms of peace, humanitarianism, and economic security.
Read all instructions carefully. Make sure you complete all parts of the assignment, and that you complete them as directed. You have some choice, as directed in each section of this assignment. Give it your best!

PART A: THE UNITED NATIONS

Select either the World Health Organization (WHO) or UNICEF Canada. Both are organizations affiliated with the United Nations. For the organization you have selected write a report, at least one paragraph in length, in which you describe the work done by the organization. Be sure to include information on the mission or mandate of the organization, when it was founded, who is leading it, and its major accomplishments. You could also include details such as its budget size, and places where it is currently working.

3. Select one peacekeeping mission in which Canada has been involved. You can do this by clicking on a decade on the "GlobalView" page and then selecting one of the missions listed there. Identify it clearly. In a paragraph, report on Canada's involvement in that mission. Include details on the nature of the conflict (i.e. what went wrong that caused the need for peacekeepers?), what Canada did as part of the peacekeeping mission (tactics, numbers of soldiers, length of commitment to the mission), and the current status of the problem.
